Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Merle made it a wonderful day.  He has settled in so easily and we are all amazed at how easily he finds his way around. 
 
Yes, Friday evening when Rich came home from work, after greeting all of the animals he went and sat in his recliner.  Merle proceeded to climb up in his lap, wash his face, and stayed with him for about a half an hour.  I laughed so hard because Rich couldn’t get the recliner to go back with all of Merle’s weight.
 
Merle has two beds, one in the living room and one in our bedroom.  Yes . . . he does snore, but we have gotten use to it and he seems to like being on the floor next to me.
 
He is so awesome, and I believe that has a lot to do with you and how well you took care of him.  Thank you for being so wonderful to him!
 
More pictures will come a bit later.  In the meantime, enjoy your trip and, of course, the wedding!  Congratulations!!!!
