About Delaney
Delaney is a sweet, little pea with lots of character. She is a shy, tentative girl who warms your heart with her deep, brown eyes. Just a little time with her and you’ll want to protect her and make sure nothing bad ever happens to her again.
She loves playing with our dogs — it’s definitely her happy place. She’s very good at meeting new dogs. She’s been living with 2 dog-savvy cats and pretty much ignores them. She’s house-trained and does great in a kennel.
When she came into our rescue she was very skinny and extremely skittish. She’s now at a healthy 50 pounds and has lots of energy and bounce!
Delaney will need time and patience when she goes to her new home. She is still shy of people and needs to approach you in her own time and her own way. She likes being near her people and prefers to relax near you rather than on you. Our special moment comes first thing in the morning when she lets you pet her non-stop, wipe the sleepy out of her eyes and she’ll even sneak in your one kiss for the day!
She’s in search of a quieter home with a playful, confident dog. She’s been around kids some and tolerates them but does not enjoy them. She’d be fine around kids visiting for a day but would not enjoy living in a house with playful, energetic kids. Any kids she’s around a lot must understand that Delaney doesn’t always want attention and doesn’t love hugs. She deserves every ounce of love she gets and we know there is a great home out there for her. A family who understands that not all dogs are cuddle bugs, but that all dogs have hearts and souls of gold. Delaney certainly does.
She is currently in Baltimore, MD and can be adopted within a reasonable driving distance. If you want more pictures of her check out her antics in her foster home. Or watch a cute video of Delaney fighting against some post-procedure sleepiness.
