Tilda’s Happy Tail

Posted: December 23rd, 2008

Matilda  aka  Tilda was adopted from ABR by Don and Nancy-

Tilda was found tied to a tree in the backyard after the occupants had been evicted from their home.  She was taken to a kill shelter and after the two week waiting period to allow owners to retrieve their dogs, Tilda had still not been claimed and was set to be euthanized that Saturday at 4pm.  Kim Barnes, an ABR volunteer, received a call and was told there was an American Bulldog scheduled to be euthanized in two days.  Kim arrived at the shelter at 9am and saved Tilda with just hours to spare.  On her way to the temporary kennel, Kim stopped by a couple’s home who was interested in adopting a dog.  When she showed the couple Tilda it was love at first sight and Tilda never made it to the kennel. Since March 2006, she has become an incredibly loyal, affectionate and playful companion.  She loves basking in the Georgia sun, loving unconditionally and being a big sister to the new family addition, Molly, a terrier mix. Tilda loves treats, won’t let you forget about her treasured canned food that she waits for all day, and at night she curls up at your side. (written by Leslie, Deacon’s human & Don and Nancy’s daughter)
