Catfish’s Happy Tail

Posted: September 5th, 2009

Hi!

Catfish joined our family in July of 2005 after ABR rescued him from a Louisiana shelter. He was malnourished and was previously chained outside to a concrete pad. Despite his rough beginnings, he’s the sweetest dog.

We still recall our first car ride home fondly. We brought him a stuffed toy (the first of many) and he munched away for most of the trip. When we stopped for a quick dinner, he looked so cute resting his head on the console that we couldn’t help sharing! The first night at home, he barked at the dishwasher and was afraid of the television. He wasn’t content with his bed on the floor and helped himself to our bed part way through the night. While we don’t allow him to sleep on the bed at night, our Saturday morning cuddles have become a tradition.

Catfish has brought us so much joy and never stops making us laugh. As the first “granddog” he’s won over the hearts of our extended family as well. He’s such a smart dog that we’ve begun to spell his favorite words (breakfast, biscuit, leash, and car ride). Otherwise, we’ll find him camped out by his bowl or the front door just waiting for us deliver on our word! Words simply can’t express our gratitude for American Bulldog Rescue for saving Catfish and bringing him into our lives.
