Timmy – ADOPTED!

Timmy - ADOPTED!

Dog:Timmy
Age:1 year
Weight: 55 lbs
Location:Philadelphia, PA
Nicknames:TT, Timothy
Good with other dogs?:Yes.
Amazing! Of course, Timmy is small and isn’t very agile so any new dog friends should be very dog-savvy, friendly and well-behaved. Another dog that Timmy could pal around with would be wonderful, but we want that new friend’s energy level and personality to match with Timmy’s. A large, super playful dog could accidentally hurt Timmy.
Good with cats? Yes
Good with children?yes, OK for kids over: about 10
Activity Preference:Will go with the flow, Champion couch potato
IQ:Average
Timmy’s favorite things:Kisses, cuddles, belly rubs, naps with his favorite humans or dog friends, squeaky toys!
Timmy is good at:meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, cuddling, playing
Ideal home: quiet environment, someone at home most of the day
Training Needs:
Health issues:Timmy is a dwarf. All four of his limbs are small and unable to bend and flex as a “normal” dog’s legs. He also suffered a complete break of his front left leg at some point and it was never repaired. It was just left to heal on its own. Because of this, he basically doesn’t have an elbow in that front leg. This is his most painful area and seems to be the leg that gives him the most difficulty. Timmy has seen 2 vets and an orthopedic surgeon. Surgery is not an option for Timmy. Timmy recently underwent a gold wire implant therapy and it looks like a success already! He’s more active, which means he’s more comfortable! This procedure should also reduce or stop the acupuncture treatments! He is under the care of a holistic vet where he receives cold laser and acupuncture therapy, if needed, and who monitors his supplements.

Meet Timmy

Timmy!!! What a joyful, special little boy! Timmy loves everyone! He will come running (his version of running is a run mixed with a hop, too precious!) to the door to great you! Timmy loves life! He is the happiest boy!  He’s a social, super friendly pup! He loves to be showered with attention and affection by adoring humans! He so happy playing or cuddling with his human or dog friends! Timmy is the life of the party! He lights up a room! He likes to go for walks in his dog mobile and greet all his adoring fans! His expressive deep eyes will melt even the hardest of hearts! When he puts his little paw on you and gazes so lovingly right into your eyes…that’s it game over! He’s always interested in what’s going on and is usually perched in a prime spot with ears up listening and watching the action.

Timmy is wonderful company! He’s the perfect size to snuggle beside you and watch a movie. Timmy’s favorite shows are anything with dogs and cats!

Timmy does need to be lifted to get on the couch or your lap. His new mom or dad should be comfortable lifting over 50 lbs a few times a day. Steps are impossible for Timmy, so a ramp or a home without steps would be ideal! He’s only got those adorable short little legs to get around and steps just aren’t in the cards. Timmy likes to play with his squeaky toys either alone or with his dog pals! His playful hops when he’s playing with his chosen stuffy are just too funny! He does tire a little more quickly then his playmates.  So he will sometimes need you to call a time-out for him.  He loves to empty out the dog toy box and pick his favorites at playtime!

Timmy likes to go for car rides. He likes to sit on the big comfy chairs outback too! He is crate trained, knows his spot in the kitchen when it’s time to eat and is right there at the door to greet you when you return home or come in from getting the mail! 🙂

He’s a fabulous little boy! So friendly! So trusting! So loving!

While Timmy can get around on his own around the house, he’s not the dog for a very active forever home. He cannot go for walks. He can’t play for any extended time. The area he covers isn’t large and he does get a little worn out when playing but after a little break he’s back up for playtime again!

Timmy’s special needs do not require a cart. He cannot use a wheelchair, since he doesn’t have full use of his front legs, they could not support a wheelchair. He does perfectly fine without any devices. His forever home should know that his therapy and supplements are expected to be lifelong and be prepared for the time and financial commitment to make Timmy’s life as fabulous as possible.

We want anyone considering adding Timmy to their lives to be completely prepared financially, physically and emotionally.  The current costs to keep him happy and moving as comfortably as possible is estimated as follows:  Hemp Forte Rx oil $200.00 a bottle for roughly 4-6 month supply, Omega-3 supplement is $26.00 a bottle (which lasts a few months), dasuquin is $50.00 for 2 1/2 month supply, ligaplex II is about $45.00 a bottle for about a 2 1/2 month supply.  Since his gold wire implant procedure he hasn’t needed the laser/acupuncture treatment.  These may not ever be needed again or maybe just needed on occasion (The costs depends on your area/vet).

Timmy is a wonderful boy! He is an inspiration to anyone he meets! There’s no bad or sad days with Timmy around!
