Sophie

Sophie

Sophie, located in Dothan, AL, has such a magical personality that you can’t help but fall in love with her.  She has received praises from the community as they have watched her progress from somewhat unmanageable on leash to following and obeying commands.   She wants very much to please and learn and will thrive in an environment where her owner will continue to give her praise, love and understanding.  Her foster family has absolutely adored caring for her and watching her grow.  Some of the commands Sophie has learned are as follows:  Place, Sit, Down, Come, Leave it, Wave, High Five, Shake, Circle, Wait, Bow and Speak.  Sophie does enjoy her treats, but her main motivation for training is her balls and this is the only time she is allowed to play with them.   At this time, Sophie prefers to walk on leash with her tennis ball in her mouth.  This tends to calm her leash reactivity and allows her to focus on commands such as sit and down.  Sophie is housebroken but does need to be let out at consistent times to prevent accidents.  She does whine when she wants to be let outside.  Overall, Sophie is very affectionate, adores people, car rides and her toys.  Plush toys she will destroy, so I only recommend indestructible toys to entertain her on a regular basis.

Madam Sophie is located in Alabama and has been through quite a lot.  Her struggles included having to have knee surgery shortly after arrival and problems with walking on leash.   She does not do well with cats or smaller dogs.  Although, she does get along well with my passive male dog, she tends to want to dominate him.  So Miss Sophie will need to be the only dog in the family.  Although she shows a high affection for all people, small kids would not be an ideal fit as Sophie doesn’t realize how big and strong she is. Sophie is approximately 2 years old will need a family who is committed to continuing her training.
