Meet Pete

Handsome Pete is a joy to have here with us. He is very chill and likes to relax.  He loves to cuddle, chew on a bone, a tennis ball or a stuffy.  He stays nearby me and takes comfort in a trusted human’s presence. He is completely house-trained. He knows a few commands that help him get around and keep him safe like “watch” “step” and “wait”.   Pete does very well getting around.  Once he learned the layout of the house and yard there was no stopping him! He goes outside for potty breaks without any assistance – well he does need someone to open and close the door for him! 🙂  Despite his challenges, Pete learns to familiarize with his surroundings quickly.  Pete is very comfortable in a safe controlled environment and will play with his dog friends or his talking toys.   The ideal home for Pete would be with adults or very mature respectful older children. He does very well with a consistent routine. He likes it when we talk to him and give direction.   Despite being listed as special needs, Pete is truly a low maintenance guy.

Pete can go for walks, car rides and hang around his fenced back yard just like any other dog. When company comes, he’s right there at the door to greet them with the other dogs.  And, just try having a snack and not tell Pete about it! Pete will wake from a sound sleep if he smells a banana!

Overall, Pete is a super handsome, easy-going, big boy who is a love! His perfect forever home will be Pete’s eyes to keep him safe and give him all the love that he deserves.
