Matilda
Matilda is a very active girl who is in a foster home with kids, cats and other dogs. She needs a lot of exercise and someone to keep on top of her house training. She is a darling girl who should not be left in a crate all day but with a family who is active and has an active K9 companion.
Matilda is full of love and affection, and she gets along with other animals very well (dogs and cats). She is very gentle with her current feline counterpart, and can play rough and tumble with her bigger male dog friend. She is very good with young kids, but when she gets excited she can be a little careless with her mouth and feet. She is not a biter, but if a child is timid she might get a bit pushy with them. She is super friendly and sweet, but is learning manners and self-control. She does respond well to “NO” commands or when you raise your voice to get her attention.
She is crate trained and can handle extended periods in the crate when necessary. Housetraining is coming along well and she responds to treats/food training. Matilda has had significantly less accidents in the house since her foster period began, but you do need to stay on top of her and make sure she has a chance to go outside regularly.
Matilda is very energetic and needs a good bit of playtime to release her energy, but is prone to crash and nap around her human friends. She loves laying in the sun outside and following her human companions around the yard.
Matilda loves to eat and will try to eat anything she can get ahold of: your food, another animals food, etc…so she should be fed her food and not allowed access to anyone else’s…so she can keep her figure. 🙂 Matilda likes chewing on things, whether it be her bones or something she isn’t supposed to, but that is typically to get your attention.
Matilda will melt your heart, but she will require time and attention to fully housetrain and to extract all the potential she has to be an amazing pet and companion. Her ideal home will be with someone who has the the time and ability to wear her out early in the day. Once she gets she energy out she settles down and is a sweet, cuddly girl. If she’s kept inside too long during the day, you will come home to a wound up girl.
