Guppy came to us after spending the first 6 months with his brother living in an outside kennel. They were extremely fearful of people. In the short time that he has been with ABR he has come around and is learning how to live inside and trust people. He is very smart. He learned his name in a day. Within days, he was comfortable in a crate. He also learned how to walk on a leash very quickly. He’s wonderful with all the dogs he has meet so far. He loves to play, but for being as young as he is, he settled in to with his foster home quickly and caught on that the dogs in my house are big fans of napping! He was an honorary bulldog while staying with us and just went with the flow. He is very sweet and by the end of his first full day here he was seeking attention from humans. He had a rough, lonely start to life and he deserves the love, devotion and protection and right forever home will offer him.

Guppy loves to play ball, and wrestle and chase the resident dogs. He likes to chew bones and play tug. He is a playful pup but after a burst of energy he settles down for a rest.

Guppy seems to have an inner sense of when it’s too darn hot to play! The other week it was a hot, humid day. Everyone including the other resident dogs were outside. Not Guppy. He put his nose out the door, felt the heat, and turned around to head back to sleep in his crate. Definitely not a southern climate dog!
