Ginger
Ginger is a wonderful American Bulldog who came to ABR in the nick of time to have her litter of puppies in January. Two volunteers drove from PA to SC and back to PA to get Ginger into her foster home before giving birth. The foster mom was anxious about this new experience for her but Ginger took care of everything. The foster mom went to get Ginger from her private room one morning and there she was with all her newborn pups, all cleaned up, and nursing!
Ginger is playful, happy, an almost constant and enthusiastic tail-wagger! She loves people and would climb into your lab for attention if you let her. She loves to play and rough-house with with her pup, Clover. She’s young, and will need someone who is consistent and patient.
We believe Ginger lived outside most of her life until she was rescued. She sometimes is startled by new noises and is on alert during walks. She’ll need a family who can continue to build up her confidence and continue to let her know she will be safe from now on. She’s done really well at house training, and needs consistency/routine to keep up her good work.
As for children, she is bouncy and happy and not suited for little children. She’d be great with bigger kids over 12. We think Ginger would be best suited for submissive/subordinate dog. She’s been great with most of the resident dogs in her foster home but seems to do best if she’s the alpha dog. Ginger was such an amazing mom to her litter and has been a wonderful girl in her foster home. She’s going to be the love of someone’s life. Yours maybe?
Ginger is 2-3 years old and fostering in Rose Valley, PA.
