Good with other dogs?: Yes.
Edgar is neutral when it comes to other dogs. He has not shown any signs of being aggressive with any members of my pack. Edgar was a bit underweight when first coming to us and did display signs of food possession with other dogs, but never people. Meet Edgar:
Lots of learning opportunities. It will be important to mentally stimulate Edgar daily. Lots of love and belly runs and durable toys to chew on! Loves stuffed frozen kongs.
Edgar is a stray from Chicago who has been living with a trainer to learn all of his basic training, socialize with other balanced dogs and most importantly learn to live in a home! He is super bright and very affectionate. Edgar shows no signs of being mistreated in his past and adores all people he meets. Belly rubs, ear srwtches and lots of love are mandatory for this boy! Toys seem to be Edgar’s favorite past time. He loves a good game of tug, but will also self occupy with a variety of different durable chew toys. Bath time is another one of his favorite activities! Edgar loves the tub and will actually “ask to get in! Edgar certainly puts the “Bull” in “bull dog” and definitely will need an experienced Bully owner and strong pack leader. Once Edgar learns a new skill, he retains it to perfection. He has been one of the most pleasurable dogs to train, as he is willing to learn and truly sees work as fun. He seems to benefit from moderate exercise, but tires quickly on longer walks. His leash manners have improved tremendously, but will need continued reinforcement. At the end of the day, Edgar will cuddle like no other. He is polite about not jumping on beds or couches unless invited, but will fall asleep right in your lap once he’s comfy. Due to his large size and strength, he is best suited in a house with children 10 and up. Edgar loves the company of other dogs, and is learning to play more and more as the days go on. During his first few days, Edgar did display signs of possessiveness over food and toys. This has greatly improved, but it is recommended he eat in his crate in a multi dog household, and be monitored around food and toys. Overall, Edgar will make for an amazing companion, and exciting to meet the person who will bring him to his forever home!
