My foster dog’s absolute favorite thing in the world is: Hanging out quietly at your feet or in your lap
Dumpling’s good: On a leash, In a car, At meeting new people, At meeting new dogs, At staying in a crate, At not having accidents in the house
Training Needs: None noted so far but he’s not going to be showing you any tricks.
Medical Issues: May need eye drops occasionally. He has arthritis in his elbows and will need to be maintained on Adequan injections and Dasequin and fish oil supplements.

Did that dog just wink at me? He sure did but don’t be flattered, he has a permanent wink. This super chill guy came to us through a Baltimore shelter where they had to remove an eye. This only adds to his ridiculous cuteness!

Dumpling is a super relaxed guy who mostly wants to lay around with you or slow roll it through the yard. He’s happiest when he’s in the same room with you. He likes attention but he’s also great at giving you space.

He will, however, accept belly rubs any time of day or night! He’ll even purr for you if you hit the right spots.

He’s been great with the other dogs in our house and has pretty good house manners. He’s going to need some TLC continued until his sprucing up is complete. He’ll need frequent nail trimming and regular application of a nose balm. (Once he’s back to normal on those fronts, this can be normal maintenance.) He has arthritis in his elbows and will need his family to provide the right care and supplements. He gets around fine but you can tell his one leg slows him down some. (He’s just getting started on his medicine for that and we expect him to be feeling better soon!) It’d be ideal for him to be in a home with minimal steps but he will go down with a little coaxing and going up is no problem at all.

He looks small but he is at a great weight and shouldn’t be fattened up, according to the vet. More weight will make it harder for him to get around.

He’s been with us for only a little while and we can tell he’s a special guy. We want him to go to a family of his own who will give him nothing but the best love and care going forward because whoever had him before really dropped the ball on that. Dumpling deserves the best! Is that you? Please check out our adoption policies and submit an application to become Dumpling’s brightest future.
