Duchess (large) – Adopted

Duchess (large) - Adopted

Age:10
Weight: 100
Location: Rose Valley PA
Nicknames: Double Dutch, Big Girl
Good with other dogs?: Duchess is interested and seems to like other dogs. We were told Duchess lived with a German Shepard. She gets along with her foster sister.  I think she’d be happy with a big buddy, whose energy was similar to hers (mostly laid back with bouts of romping playfulness). Slow introductions would be best because of her size and power. (She is a strong girl!)
Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat
Good with children? OK for kids over: 10 – she’s so big.
Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow
IQ: Smart
Duchess’s favorite things: The only thing Duchess likes more than riding in the car is riding in the car with her head out the window (so she has pink Doggles). Duchess loves walks, sometimes trotting and sometimes taking the time to smell the flowers. She appreciates every meal and all treats. Duchess loves to be with you, but is also content to sleep peacefully in her room. She is very quiet – I’ve only heard her bark once in 5 weeks.
Duchess is good at: meeting people, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing
Ideal home: Someone to spend quality time with her every day, a walk or two and lots of love.
Training Needs: None, she’s kind of perfect.
Health issues: Duchess is on Proin.

Meet Duchess

Duchess is a sweetheart, a love, a very special girl! She is beautiful inside and out. Duchess is calm and content, happy to nap in her room, walk through the woods with you, or follow you around the house. Every now and again, she gets this silly, playful energy and romps around – quite a sight for this big, 100 lb senior girl! Duchess is this wonderful combination of a social, loving girl who is also quietly independent. She is very special. To meet her is to love her.

Duchess loves: everyone she meets from toddles to seniors; walks and sniffing; rubs and scratches around her ears; rides in the car, especially with her head out of the window; pup cups and treats; a comfy dog bed; and laying by your side.
Duchess doesn’t: bark, whine, chew destructively (although she truly enjoys a good bone or chew toy); scratch; have accidents in the house, jump up on people; or make any unreasonable demands.  This big girl is perfectly happy to have her daily walk and potty breaks, weekly ride in the car/pup cup, comfy naps,  and time with her person.
