Meet Zeus

Zeus is a happy, cuddly moose of a dog. He was surrendered by his owners after 6 years because they were breaking up and no one could fit him into their lives. It’s a sad story but Zeus will make a new family so very happy.

In the short time we’ve had Zeus, he’s been a really good dog. He is trusting and loving. The thing he most wants is to be by your side. He’s a wonderful companion who will absolutely thrive if given the attention he deserves.

He’s very good with cats, and prefers to live with one. He’s gentle and deferential to ours. He has lived with dogs some before and is reportedly submissive. We’re still introducing him to our dogs. He’s been perfect at every turn with them. When we went to the vet, he was over-the-moon happy to see other dogs.

He loves chilling outside, especially in the sun. He enjoys going for walks and does well on a leash.

Zeus has been a quick learner. In less than a week, he knew “go to your room” and knew when he could go to the kitchen. He’s well behaved in the house. He can stay in a crate but prefers not to.

Zeus’ former owner said he spent time around young kids and was very good with them. He has not lived with children. He is gentle but he is big. He’s respectful of people — he doesn’t try to jump on us or push his way past us. When he cuddles he likes to be very close, either resting his head on your lap or tucking himself in behind your back. Belly rubs are one of the best gifts you could give him!

He is slightly camera shy, which makes it hard to get pics that show off this sweet soul. He has beautiful almond-shaped, brown eyes. He’s got a big head and looks so adorable when his ears go up. He’s mostly brindle and white and has lots of dark freckles on his skin that peek through the white fur.
