Meet Sparky

Sparky has transformed into an amazing, handsome dog. He came to us practically on his death bed being starved in a crate in an empty parking lot in DC.  When he first arrived to us his age was unknown, anywhere from a puppy to 7 years old. Now that he feels better and is healthy, he shows more signs of a younger dog.  Sparky has overcome so much! During his recovery he ate some thing he shouldn’t have and had to have obstruction surgery! Then, recently he was diagnosed with anal carcinoma and a partially torn ACL.  Two surgeries later to remove the cancer he’s got a clean bill of heath! We are so happy for Sparky…we should start calling him “Super” Sparky! He’s on strict rest for several weeks to get that ACL healed.  Can you believe this boy’s luck!  Sparky just has one more hurdle to overcome before being able to live a long, healthy, happy life.  What’s that? He needs to find his very own forever home! Sparky is a young, happy, playful, goofy, adorable, boy who loves his foster family and will make a lucky family out there complete!
All in all, Sparky is a great boy who wants to please you and be there for you no matter what. He wants someone that is home more than they are gone, that has the time and patience to work on teaching him manners and have fun with him.  Training either in the home or a group would be terrific for Sparky. He’s basically like a gigantic puppy! It’s so sad, he’s never had a home, and no one to love him and teach him. He deserves the security and love of his own family.  He needs to continue with the basics as well as the advanced training. With a little time, patience and love Sparky will be that dog that people say was the “one” “the best dog ever”.
