Skynard is a simple man.  He’s quiet and calm. Skynard is fabulous with other dogs.  He lives with 3 cats in his foster home.  He does try to get the cats to play but winds up scaring them.  He could live with a cat who is experienced with dogs and their occasional nonsense.  He loves his squeaky toys.  He will take them up to his bed and squeak them and play or suck on them and fall asleep.  Skynard doesn’t love the cold but he does love being under blankets.  He likes to be where his humans are and will follow you around “helping’ out or will find a comfy spot where he can watch all the action. He’s very smart and knows several commands.  He knows the outside camera notice sound and watches the door to see who is coming.   He is great on a leash and walks make him so happy.  Skynard is very friendly and has met lots of people at ABR events and did amazing.   He’s pretty perfect!

Skynard is 7 years old, about 96-100 pounds, white with brindle patches.  He came to us still growing his fur back. Its filling in so nicely and so soft. He’s a good looking boy and such a sweetheart!

The history that we know about Skynard is that he was in a car accident with his owner.  Skynard was not hurt but his owner was seriously hurt and hospitalized.  Apparently, the injuries were severe enough that he was unable to care for Skynard any further.  He was surrendered to a southern shelter. At the time of his surrender, he was flea infested, overweight, overly grown nails, missing a lot of fur, and had ear and skin infections.  The shelter got him all the care he needed to get on the road to good health and by the time he came to us a few weeks ago his fur had started to grow back.

Skynard is in Philadelphia, PA.
