Meet Loki

A day in the life of Loki:

I wake up and patiently wait for my foster mom to roll out of bed, unless I have to go and then I coo softly until she hears me. I get to eat breakfast in my crate while she gets the rest of the house up for the day. Then….WE PLAY BALL!!! I would play all morning if she let me, but as soon as I hear the treat jar open I run into my crate and sit because I know that means treats. I love treats.

I’ve gotten to hang out in the house alone for short periods of time when my foster mom runs quick errands. I’m a good boy! I am not destructive and was resting and waiting by the door when she got back.

I love afternoon adventures!! We’ve gone hiking, I was so brave and got to swim and fetch in the Chesapeake Bay, and my foster mom has even put me in this crazy harness and let me try weight pool at Show Me Your Dog Training!!
Even though I love playing in the rain, some days we play inside instead. There has not been a trick this lady has tried to teach me that I didn’t learn right away, she has me stay on place, jump through hoops, jump over obstacles, give my paw, close cabinets and doors, and spin abs circle and a ballerina. She says she’s going to teach me how to get a beer from the cooler next and maybe I’ll go viral. I don’t know what viral is, but if it helps my family find me I’m all for it!!

When my foster mom goes to work I rest in my crate. I like it there and I don’t make a mess or tear up my bed. When she gets home…WE PLAY BALL!! I will go go go until I drop, so she keeps my baby pool filled so I can lay down and cool off. I have short hair and dry super fast, lucky me. I get dinner on the porch but I don’t like to be very far from my foster mom. If she goes in I lay at the door till she comes back.

If I hear someone knocking I bark to make sure my foster mom heard too but I love everyone that walks through the door. More people to throw the ball!! I especially like men, and they all turn into a little boy and his dog when we play. I am a gentle guy but I will keep up with you if you want to play hard!

At night I just like to be in the same room as my foster mom. Sometimes I’m not quite done playing and she puts my ball away for the night. She gave me a bone once and I tried to bury it under everything until my nose was raw so we just stick to balls and Kongs these days, I don’t really care to chew anyway. My foster mom is a busy lady and doesn’t sit for long. I’m hoping when my family finds me they are patient and teach me how to cuddle. I trust this lady and let her touch me all over now, but it’s just not the same as having a person of your own.

Sometimes my foster mom forgets to put me in my crate and I tuck myself into bed in my crate all by myself. Then I close my eyes and dream about you and the adventures we’ll have together once you come for me.

Can’t wait to meet you!
Love,
Loki
