Bailey Boo – ADOPTED!

Bailey Boo - ADOPTED!
Dog: Bailey
Age: 14 years
Weight: 24 lbs (and loosing!)
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Nicknames: Pug, Puggy
Good with other dogs?: Yes but would do better with a dog equally as calm
Good with cats? Yes
Good with children? Bailey is a senior and will not be placed with young kids.  He should not be picked up by little arms that could drop him.  He has very limited vision and hearing and would do best with an adult only home.
Activity Preference: Champion couch potato, “Energy, do you mean like walking to my food bowl?”
IQ: Smart
Bailey’s favorite things: Meal time! Naps! Lots of hugs, kisses and pets!
Bailey is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, napping
Ideal home: a quiet home, no steps would be great, a fenced yard for safe potty trips
Health issues: Bailey has dry eye and will require prescription eye drops twice a day for the rest of his life he will need daily cleaning of his nasal face fold.  He recently had 11 teeth removed.  When he came to ABR he was “making it work” eating dry kibble with rotting lose teeth, he would probably really appreciate eating canned or another form of soft food.  Currently he is eating canned food and he’s doing great.  He doesn’t have to adjust the way he eats like he did before.

MEET BAILEY

Bailey is sweetie! He’s an easy boy who is good company.  He’s a good “listener” and will sit in your lap while you tell him your secrets.  Looking up at you with those huge, trusting pug eyes! His vision is very limited (we think he can maybe see shadows or light) but he quickly finds his way around new spaces.  He’s very happy to lay in his bed looking like a adorable loaf of bread! LOL. Since coming to ABR and getting the love and care he deserves and medical attention he needed he’s got some pep in his step and sparkle in his eyes he even wags that adorable little tail now when he catchs a familiar scent! He will seek you out and look for snuggles and scratches now too! He’s a very good boy when taking a bath (we call it spa day), getting his twice a day eye drops, and having his nasal fold cleaned daily.  He adjusted very quickly to the feeding and potty schedule at his foster home and goes with the flow.  Bailey is fine with other dogs but tries to stay away from younger, active dogs because he’s a little fearful of them because he has been knocked over.  He would be just fine as an only dog with all the attention!  He’s also good with cats.  Bailey is a super sweet boy who had a crap life and then was throw away after 14 years with is family yet, he is a trusting, easy going, darling little guy!
